Four kinds of tour around Annecy

Most visitors choose between a lake cruise, a tandem paragliding flight, a boat they rent and steer themselves, and a day trip from Geneva. They differ a lot in price and effort. The table sums them up, and the sections after it give the details.

The prices below were published by the operators in 2026. They are examples from single providers, not a lake-wide tariff. Confirm the price and date on the booking page before you pay.

Lake cruises

The Compagnie des Bateaux runs commentated cruises without a stop. The Découverte (Grand Lac) lasts 1 hour. Adults pay €19, children from 4 to 12 pay €13.50, and children from 0 to 3 pay €2. The Évasion (Grand and Petit Lac) lasts 1 hour 30 minutes. Adults pay €22, children from 4 to 12 pay around €15, and children from 0 to 3 pay €2. Pets pay €5 on both. The season runs from 1 March to 30 November.

Tickets are sold online and at the quay. Boarding starts 15 minutes before departure, and departures depend on the calendar. Current change: because of low water, both cruises have left from Sevrier instead of Annecy since 23 September 2026. No date is given for a return to the normal port. A separate Navibus service stops briefly in lake villages. It is not a cruise, so check its current timetable before you plan around it.

Tandem paragliding

One operator at Doussard publishes these flights from Col de la Forclaz. You meet at 50 Chemin des Grands Prés in Doussard. A transfer of about 20 minutes takes you to the launch site, and you land back in Doussard. The operator names a qualified instructor and you get a helmet and harness.

Prices as published in October 2026: Découverte €95 for 10 to 15 minutes (weight limit 80 kg), Ascendance €120 for 15 to 25 minutes and Prestige €160 for 35 to 45 minutes (weight limit 110 kg for both). A child flight costs €90 for 10 to 15 minutes, with a limit of 45 kg, in the morning. The season runs from April to October. Fly only with a licensed tandem pilot. Flights depend on the weather, so allow a spare day. Wear sturdy hiking shoes, long trousers and a warm, windproof layer. Flip-flops and smooth soles are not suitable. The paragliding page has more.

Day trips from Geneva

A Swiss operator offers an Annecy city tour of 5 hours, from CHF 49 in the page header (another line on the same page says CHF 45, so the final price may differ). It includes the return coach, a driver who guides, a walk through the old town and free time. Meals are not included. Museums are not listed as included entries.

The example program leaves Geneva at 9:00 am, reaches Annecy around 10:00 am, leaves again at 12:45 pm and returns to Geneva around 2:00 pm. Treat it as a program that can change, not as a scheduled service. If you prefer to travel on your own, bus line 272 links Geneva airport and Annecy in about 80 minutes. The Geneva to Annecy page has fares and a sample timetable.

Annecy tours: frequently asked questions

Where do the lake cruises leave from now?

Since 23 September 2026 the Compagnie des Bateaux has announced Sevrier as the departure port for its cruises, because of low water. No end date has been given. Check the port and the time on your ticket.

How long is a lake cruise?

The Découverte takes 1 hour and the Évasion 1 hour 30 minutes. Neither stops on the way. Be at the boat 15 minutes before departure.

Do I need to book paragliding in advance?

Book through the operator's page or a tour listing so you know the date and the weight limit. Flights depend on the weather, so allow a spare day.

Is a day trip from Geneva worth it?

It is the simplest option if you have half a day and no car. You get under three hours in town. If you want the lake, take the bus and stay longer.

Can I rent a boat without a license?

At the rental near the Pont des Amours, yes. The motorboats listed there can be used without a boat license, and a deposit is required.
